On-Site Ranch Activities

Walking/Hiking: Take a leisurely walk or a brisk hike on the 1,100-acre ranch property. The terrain includes rolling foothills plains, pinion and ponderosa, 20ft deep arroyos, rock outcroppings and stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Horseshoes: Create a tournament with your group or go one-on-one!
Billiards/Ping Pong: The antique billiards table also has a table tennis top and is located in the game room for year-round use.
Croquet: The classic lawn game. Four expansive lawn areas to choose from. Set up a new course everyday!
Backgammon/Chess/Board Games: Get a partner or a small group an choose from a variety of board games or any of the many chess/backgammon game table set-ups located throughout the property.
Feature Films: Choose from hundreds of titles of feature films in the video library and settle in front of any one of the four televisions with a bowl of popcorn or your favorite snack. The game room features a 62" large screen TV for ultimate movie viewing!
Massage: Schedule one of several great massage therapists for the day. Take turns relaxing with a Swedish or deep tissue massage, then spend a few minutes either in the sauna or the outdoor spa.



Off-Site Activities In and Around Town

Westcliffe, "The Town Experience": Just 10 minutes away by car - antique shopping, grocery/liquor, clothing and souvenir, and a variety of restaurants from snack bar to fine dining. Fairs, parades, festivals, rodeos, and art galleries all grace this beautiful little mountain town nestled at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Golf at St. Andrews: Reserve a tee-time at Westcliffe's own St. Andrews golf course, a quick 15-minute car ride away. A 9-hole course with mountain views from every hole. Bring your clubs or rent on-site. Open during season.
Hike the Sangre de Cristo Mountains: One of the most beautiful ranges in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the Sangre de Cristo range has five 14,000-ft peaks, with most of the mountains peaking-out at around 13,500ft. Filled with trails, lakes, streams, wildlife and absolutely breathtaking views.
Fishing in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains: With too many high mountain lakes to count, the Sangre de Cristo range provides high-mountain fishing like you've never experienced. Try fly fishing on a high mountain lake or work the many streams flowing from the previous winter's snow pack. If you're a fisherman, it doesn't get any better!
Fish the Arkansas River: Just a 30 minute drive north in the valley and you come to one of Colorado's most known rivers for fishing and rafting, the Arkansas River. Try your luck at one of the many fly-fishing locations situated along Hwy 50 between Salida and Canon City or sign up for a guided float fishing tour.
White Water Rafting: Extreme adventure shooting the Royal Gorge or family adventure, local raft tours provide the safest and highest quality river trips available. River tours are available just 30 minutes away.
Visit the Royal Gorge: Only 40 minutes away, this spectacular gorge is crossed by the world's highest suspension bridge.
Visit "Great Sand Dunes National Park": The tallest sand dunes in North America, these incredible dunes are oddly located along the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the San Luis Valley, only 90 minutes away.
Experience Massage in a Mountain Environment: Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Spa Sola Fide, only 15 minutes from the ranch, or have one of their experienced massage therapists join your group at Red Rock Ranch for a day of massage or hot stone therapy. Cross Country Skiing: Depending on snow conditions, cross-country skiing is available throughout the region. Ski the Rainbow Trail, just 15 miles from the ranch, which runs the length of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Downhill Skiing: Monarch, often heralded as "the best powder skiing in the state" is Westcliffe's nearest ski area, just one hour and fifteen minutes away. Located on the continental divide, this ski area is affordable and has a variety of slopes for all levels of expertise. Monarch also provides CAT skiing depending upon conditions.
Hot Springs: Some of the country's most beautifully located hot springs in natural rustic settings. Soak or swim in natural gravel-bottomed pools and feel the surge of carbonated hot spring water bubbling up all around you. Several hot springs locations are available within a 90-minute drive from the ranch.
